Kilbarchan Pipe Band is a traditional pipes and drums band currently competing at Grade 4B. With family and fun at the centre of everything we do, we are proud to represent the village of Kilbarchan.

Tuesday and Thursday nights are tuition and practice sessions for our band. Meeting in Kilbarchan Primary School from 7.30pm, our members are encouraged and coached – but, most importantly, we have fun! Additional tuition is also available on these days from 6.30pm in Kilbarchan Scout Hut for those less experienced. We have a corps of pipes and drums – our drums section split into snare and bass.

Our band ethos is to encourage and support the musical growth of our members in a safe and sociable environment. It is our passion to keep the interest alive in traditional Scottish music while making this music accessible to all.

Kilbarchan Pipe Band welcomes anyone of any background to try their hand at Scotland’s best-known instruments. From 8 years-old to 90 years-young, everyone is welcome.

Although we are a competing band, there are still many occasions for those less competitive to join in. From leading the parade on Kilbarchan’s Lilias Day, to welcoming cruise liners, to providing entertainment at events -corporate or private, we are happy to share the privilege of playing with all of our members. Young or old, experienced or new, everyone is welcome in Kilbarchan Pipe Band.

Music brings people and communities together. Kilbarchan Pipe Band is honoured to put music back in the centre of the community and prides itself on being the spirit of Kilbarchan. Our band is like a family – a sentiment that is actually true for some of our members! If you have an interest, no matter how small, why not contact us today and find out how you can learn the songs of our ancestors.

There is a friendly and welcomimg atmosphere with lots of social activities as well as playing events locally and further afield. We aim to do well in competitions without losing touch with our roots as a village band.
